Q. What is Ontario Lawyers Probate Bond Service [OLPBS]?
A. OLPBS is an exclusive service for Ontario Lawyers who are retained to probate an estate or part thereof. The service is intended to be easy, fast and cost efficient.
Q. How is the service easy?
A. OLPBS is a computer format with user-friendly questions. A lawyer’s assistant will feel comfortable, quickly.
Q. How is the service fast?
A. OLPBS uses an electronic real time computer format that transfers data directly onto an official bond application that can be printed instantly, ready for signing. A time-saving method.
Q. How is the service cost efficient?
A. OLPBS is live and by clicking on “submit” the underwriting process begins. A same day offer to bond response is not uncommon. The bond rates reflect this and intended to be extremely competitive.
Q. Explain the signed application, “copy” vs. “wet.”
A. A copy is virtually instant, via upload or fax, and provides needed consent for the underwriter. Once a bond application is approved then the wet signature is required before the bond is issued.
Q. Is a bond always issued?
A. No. The underwriter must first approve the application. Once approved, the lawyer is notified to make premium payment arrangements before the bond can be issued. To expedite the process, we generally offer to send the bond to the lawyer in escrow pending receipt of everything needed.
Q. Why are some applications declined?
A. For privacy reasons, not all underwriting declinations can be disclosed. However, OLPBS has a superior acceptance ratio. Our bonding expertise allows us to work closely with Ontario lawyers and personally guide them on overcoming some obstacles. Much of this special service makes OLPBS such a success.
Q. Can I speak directly to an OLPBS representative?
A. Yes. Feel free to contact our bonding team at any time by calling 1-800-361-7035. Or, email our team leader Richard Dinyer at richard.dinyer@hubinternational.com.
Q. How do I get a password?
A. By going to www.ontariolawyersprobatebonds.com and following the instructions.
Q. What is Gamble Insurance?
A. This is the name style of Gamble & Associates Ltd., a leading insurance brokerage providing insurance and bonding services since 1948. An employee owned entity with a staff commitment that everyone be treated with courtesy, respect, and consideration.
